Traffic Information System autobahn.NRW
The traffic state presented under www.autobahn.nrw.de is an image of the current traffic situation of the motorway network in North Rhein Westphalia. The represented traffic situation is calculated by a simulation of the traffic flow on the motorways supplemented by real traffic data. The motion of the vehicles is reproduced in a model, i.e. the accelerations, decelerations, turn left or right, overtakes are described. The project was initiated by the Ministry of Transport, Energy and Spatial Planning of Nordrhein-Westfalen.
