English fan zone at the trotting race course
To do justice to the anticipated arrival of visitors for the quarter-final match in Gelsenkirchen, the City of Gelsenkirchen has decided to provide an additional public viewing area. The grounds at the trotting race course can hold a capacity of up to 80,000 people and will be ready for use by 5pm on Friday, in time for the Germany v. Argentina quarter-final.
Match transmission on the giant screen will be supplied by a British broadcasting company and as a service to English fans, the match will be broadcast in English. American journalist, David Patrician will greet the fans in English.
The 2006 FIFA World Cup™ FAN FEST at the Glückaufkampfbahn will also be extended in good time for the Germany v Argentina quarter-final. An additional giant screen will be erected in an adjoining sports ground enabling a total of 30.000 visitors to take part in the Fan Fest.
